One on one coaching

"We go to the movies, watch TV and go to the theater to see, not the ordinary or dull, but extraordinary people - how a person dealing with pain and trauma overcomes and wins, by using that pain as a fuel. " Ivana Chubbuck.

If you have a part in film, television, theatre etc. and want to go deeper, be more real, more interesting.

If you want to come to an audition, casting or screen test with exciting and unique choices.

If you want to find a raw, personal, deeply authentic acting, even if you’re not in a play or prepare for a film part at the moment.

What is happening in a coaching session?

  • we find background, the primal drives and the psychological logic of the character.
  • we find the physical language, movement pattern, walk etc.of the character through analysis.
  • we find the journey of the character through the script, make it active and avoid portraying a victim or wallowing in emotions.
  • we make exciting, personal and bold choices in each scene.
  • we identify the factors in your own life that are happening right now which will make you a living, breathing character going for the win.
  • we do exercises to create organic fear, sadness, loss and other extreme emotions, sexual chemistry between you and the other actor, feelings of being on drugs or alchohol etc.
  • support during rehearsals and shootings to handle cuts, new scenes and difficult situations.
  • we find new paths in your acting and develop an acting which is psychologically multi-layered, truthful and raw.
  • we work on raising your confidence in yourself as an actor and handle stage fright and nerves.

How do we do it?

We begin with an introductory meeting, where we talk about the Chubbuck Technique and the best way for the two of us to work together. Aften that the work begins! The first few times we will have to meet meet eye to eye, but after that we can continue over phone, skype or possibly email-depending of the nature of the work and where in the world we are at the moment in time. A session is usually about 2 hours, but can be longer or shorter, depending on what needs to be done and how much time there is to do it. If we are going to work on a script I would like to get access to it the night before the session.

How can I book a meeting?

A meeting is usually booked by you writing an email to tell me a little bit about yourself, your acting background and why you want to work with an acting coach. Then we arrange a time and a place to meet.
